ISRA is delighted to invite participants to its third cadaveric regional anaesthesia course, taking place at University College Dublin.
This two-day course is designed for anaesthetists who want to build on foundation knowledge, develop practical regional anaesthesia skills and progress beyond novice-level practice.
The course is ESRA-DRA approved and is particularly relevant for participants preparing for ESRA-DRA examinations.
The programme includes short introductory anatomy primers, with the remainder of the course dedicated to hands-on ultrasound scanning and needling in small groups.
What the course covers
- Improve understanding of the applied anatomy involved in commonly performed regional anaesthesia blocks.
- Improve ultrasound visualisation of commonly performed regional anaesthesia blocks.
- Practise commonly performed single-shot regional anaesthesia blocks on cadavers.
- Practise insertion of regional anaesthesia continuous infusion catheters on cadavers.
Who the course is for
Suitable for anaesthetists with more than one year practising anaesthesia who have completed the ISRA Foundation Course or an equivalent.
Why the points matter
ESRA-DRA candidates are required to provide evidence of approved workshop attendance as part of the examination process. ESRA allocates workshop points according to the type and duration of hands-on training, including cadaveric and ultrasound-based regional anaesthesia workshops.
This course carries the ESRA-DRA points shown above. Candidates should confirm their own ESRA-DRA workshop requirements directly with ESRA before applying for examinations.
